GOTHIC AND WITCHES LITERARY AND CREATIVE WRITING WORKSHOP

This workshop takes as its starting point the figure of the witch; across a variety of texts the trope and its qualities will be explored – old and new – to play with some familiar traits and find some surprises. Bewitched by power and beauty participants will create our own figures in a blend of literary criticism and creative writing. Without darkness there cannot be light, so come on and dance in the literary moonlight … with Homer, Angela Carter, Toni Morrison, Jeanette Winterson, Emma Donaghue and others.
