Sam McAlister worked as a producer for the BBC Newsnight team, securing infamous interviews with the likes of Elon Musk, Bill Clinton, and of course Prince Andrew for the BAFTA winning programme Prince Andrew and the Epstein Scandal in which he sat down with inscrutable journalist Emily Maitlis . Prior to working at the BBC, McAlister was the first member of her family to attend university. Studying at the University of Edinburgh, McAlister became a criminal barrister before working in the media securing high-stakes interviews.

 

Since the interview aired, gaining Prince Andrew global attention, McAlister has left the BBC to write an autobiographical book called Scoops. Subsequently, Netflix have also produced the hugely successful feature film Scoop, which sees Billie Piper play the feisty Sam McAlister.
